BGC Parents in the Know Group (virtual)

Parents in the Know is a professionally facilitated program designed to provide education, guidance, and support for caregivers navigating the challenges of parenting a teen. This group welcomes parents facing a wide range of concerns, from feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or uncertain, to coping with feelings of guilt or blame.

Many participants come to us seeking help with teens who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, school avoidance, substance use, low motivation, or with more serious concerns like suicidal thoughts and violent behaviour.

In a confidential, non-judgmental setting, caregivers will:

• Gain effective strategies to improve family relationships, reduce conflict, and enhance communication.
• Deepen their understanding of adolescent development.
• Discover the importance of self-care and how it can strengthen their role as a parent.
• Connect with others who share similar experiences, reminding them that they’re not alone on this journey.

This program offers a safe space for parents to feel heard, supported, and empowered in their parenting.

Who can attend? Parents and Caregivers of teens ages 12-24. Participants must currently reside in Delta, Ladner, or Tsawwassen. Participants must have a confidential space to join the Zoom meetings via video.
